Hi,we use 4.1 version ESX and have Digitus Marvell 88SX7042 chipset SATA controller but does't work on ESX 4.1

When i type lspci,following output is printed the screen:

but hard disks does not appear with fdisk -l command on ESX 4.1.

I tried to use this card on Centos 5.5 and all disk works succesfully.I can see the all disk that attached the SATA card.
I searched google and according to below wiki address:88SX7042 chipset use the sata_mv module

How can i compile sata_mv on ESX kernel or what i can/should i do for running this SATA card ?

ESXi doesn't include a Marvell driver. There are a couple of community compiled options here - http://www.vm-help.com/esx40i/customize_oem_tgz.php.

I will check your suggested site page but a lot of vendor is not supported by vmware

If you'd like to try to compile a driver the best guide I've seen is here - http://www.kernelcrash.com/blog/using-a ... 009/08/22/. It deals with a NIC, but when you look at the source code you'll be able to find the source for existing storage controllers as well. Hopefully that'll give you an idea of what you need to do.
