It's this that you like? marvell_pata.oem.tgz; r8169.oem.tgz; ahci.oem.tgz; sky2.oem.tgz
Ok, so next time I'll create one oem.tgz package with each driver.

Well that works. I think it's better to know what the oem file supports.
If you like to support the driver and create some common used base oem files.

Now one suggestion (perhaps, someone can try to do this):

* Compile all non-official drivers for ESX4i in individual packages and save it in a web server.
* Publish one script (PHP, for exemple) in the web server that can create a custem OEM.TGZ with all drivers that someone needs (based on a selection in a form).

You agree?

That is out of my knowledge

Add correct PCI-IDs to "simple.map" as you need.

And remember, this driver isn't from me... I only include it in my custom-oem.tgz ;)

Hey Danisoto

Do you still have the .tgz file containing the Marvell Yukon drivers in it only.

In particular does it support the Marvell 88E8052 and Marvell 88E8053 PCIE Gigabit LAN, see my original post.

A link or PM me.

Any help appreciated.

Big Al

You can use this - http://www.vm-help.com/esx40i/find_PCI_ID.php - to figure out the PCI ids for your NIC and compare that with the list above. If the oem.tgz file contains more than just the yukon driver it won't be an issue.

Post Re: Drivers for Marvell PATA and others (r8169/sky2/ahci)
My network card is Marvell Yukon 88E8056.
I tried to install with customizing oem.tgz(mymod-network.new2.tgz)
But it failed.
I did as follows.

ISO image:VMware-VMvisor-Installer-4.0.0.Update01-208167.x86_64.iso
I used PXE boot to install ESXi4.

I chaned etc/vmware/simple.map in oem.tgz as follows.

original: 11ab:4362 0000:0000 network sky2.o
mine : 11ab:4364 0000:0000 network sky2.o

and I make new oem.tgz.
then I put oem.tgz to image.tgz

I tried installing by PXE boot with these files,
but it failed.
On Monitor I saw "No compatible network adapter found".

I tried adding " --- oem.tgz" at the end of "append".But it failed.

are there anyone successful with Marvell Yukon 88E8056?
Please tell me how to install with this network card.

Did you add the driver to oem.tgz?

Post Re: Drivers for Marvell PATA and others (r8169/sky2/ahci)
Yeah I added the driver sky2.o on /usr/lib/vmware/vmkmod/ in oem.tgz.
This sky2.o is from mymod-network.new2.tgz.

and I tried Tech support mode today.
I didn't know how to enter tech support mode.
Sorry I am newbie about ESXi.

I checked my network id by "lcpci -v" in tech support mode.
My device ID is 11ab:4364.

and I also checked simple.map in tech support mode.
I found that I mistook to edit simple.map.

and I try I again.
The problem was solved.

Thank you

The problem was solved but another problem come.
After I install ESXi4 and reboot, I see the same error install.

"No compatible network adapter found".

so I checked in tech support mode, I knew next things.

simple.map back to default one.
Added driver is deleted.

What should I do??
Before reboot, should I do antyhing?
