Re: ESXi 4.1 works on Asus M4A89GTD PRO
Motherboard: Asus M4A89GTD PRO, AMD 890GX Memory: Corsair 8GB (4x2GB) DDR3 1333MHz Memory Kit Unbuffered CL8 CPU:AMD Phenom II X6 1055T HDD: Seagate St3500320NS
Load AHCI - installation freezes Press "ALT" - installation resumed before loading the module pata_atiixp Press "ALT" - window appears, start installation = "welcome - press enter" After press "F11" - error install = "load /usr/lib/vmware/vmkmod/vmfs3 failure" - stop install
when pressing the keys "ALT" - periodically there are reports "processor apparently halted"
= Asus P5B ; 2GB RAM ; Seagate St3500320NS ; CPU: E8500 - installs without problems

Your english is just fine.
> After press "F11" - error install = "load /usr/lib/vmware/vmkmod/vmfs3 failure" - stop install For the above error it's not finding a NIC that it can use. That's a requirement to get through the install. What sort of NIC does the MB have?
What sort of keyboard are you using?

Re: ESXi 4.1 works on Asus M4A89GTD PRO
Hello - I'm pretty new to using ESXi, and have very little Linux experience. I do have the M4a89GTD PRO board (w/ Phenom II x6 1075T, Corsair 4GBx2 1333, 500gb Seagate Sata). I saw the link at the bottom of this post (ESXi 4.1 customized with New version of Realtek R8168 oem.tgz from this link, viewtopic.php?f=12&t=2187), but I have no idea how to apply/install this. I'm pretty sure it's not that difficult, I'm just looking for some (ESXi for dummies-type) directions here. I'm assuming (since this is a new install) I have to take this file and added it to my install media. Thanks!!!

Re: ESXi 4.1 works on Asus M4A89GTD PRO
I have had this system up for 3 days now work great however it does not seem to support IOMMU for VMDirect path even though the chip-set and the processor (AMD Athlon II x 4 635) is there some thing I'm doing wrong.

It doesn't seem that ESXi works properly with IOMMU for this MB - http://vip.asus.com/forum/view.aspx?boa ... uage=en-us.
