I'm using ESXi and I don't see those messages, I'm sorry...

What is exact model of your ethernet chip?
I've got Realtek 8168/8111E chip. It is placed on Gigabyte GA-H55N-USB3 motherboard.

hi aslyotov,

Do you have problem about SATA controller? I have same MB with you, but can go through installation with SATA hard driver.

Are these Windows drivers? If so try changing the virtual NIC to vmxnet3.

I feel r8169 driver is more stable, My MB is ASUS P6T ws professal
ex: my guest os w2003, remote desktop is ok on 8169
protocol error code (1201) on 8168

000:006:00.0 10ec:8168 1043:8367 11/ 11/0x98 A V r8169 vmnic0
000:006:00.0 Ethernet controller Network controller: Realtek Semiconductor Co., Ltd. RTL8111/8168B PCI Express Gigabit Ethernet controller [vmnic0]
Class 0200: 10ec:8168

The ftp rate from outside to esxi server is about 300KB/s
But from guest os to esxi is about 20MB/s
WHY??????????????

my console still show "cpux:8445)warning:LinuxFileDesc: 2788: unimplemented range for setlk (fd=7, range=1,508,492)"

Hi Guru,
Could somebody share with me ready iso image of ESX with oem.tgz with latest Realtek 8168 driver? I believe there are a lot of such images already.
I am absolutly don't have possibility to prepare such image myselft. I have corporate PC with Windows. VMPlayer doesn't have needed hardware for it's work. Don't have possibility to install linux at all.
But my server is HP dx2400 with NIC RLT8168. Not possible to install ESX at all.
Is it possible to share with me such image?

Like DSEN, could someone provide an oem.tgz with latest drivers ?

Or provide a link explaining how to compile the driver and build the oem.tgz file ?

I customized a a boot CD for ESXi 4.0 update 1 with the first oem.tgz provided, and was able to install my whitebox, but the network driver does not work properly.
Which source files are required to be downloaded from VMware to have a good building environment ? So many files are available on VMware Website.

I really would like to be able to install a properly running ESXi 4.1 system.

My hardware:
- MOBO. Asustek M4A89GTD Pro
- CPU: Phenom II X2 555 Black Edition (3.2 Ghz), socket AM3, AMD
- RAM: 8GB.
- HD: SpinPoint F3, 1 To, 32 Mo, 7200 tpm, SATA II, Samsung
