With ESXi you just have to edit simple.map. You can either put it in oem.tgz or if you're doing to stick with USB boot you can just enable the sticky bit on simple.map and then edit it - viewtopic.php?f=14&t=318&p=1568&hilit=sticky#p1568.

Re: SSR212MA - SRCS28X controller is not supported?
Glad to here it's working. Just to double check this is an Intel SCRS28X with complete PCI id of 1000:0409 8086:3008 ?

Re: SSR212MA - SRCS28X controller is not supported?
Yes it looks like its Intel version of SRCS28X which use 1000:0409 8086:3004 or 1000:0409 8086:3008 - I added both rows to simple.map just for be sure. Thanks again for all your help Best regards,
j.

Quote: Dave: Will you be using ESX or ESXi? What changes need to be made to make this card work w/ ESX 4.0? Thanks!

The driver will be the same for ESX and ESXi. ESX just stores the drivers a bit differently that ESXi.

Re: SSR212MA - SRCS28X controller is not supported?
ESX uses XML files for this. Take a look here - http://www.vm-help.com/esx/esx3.5/SATA_ ... ailed.html. I haven't spent much time with ESX 4 but if they haven't changed it much then it should give you an idea of what to do. I would start with testing the driver with vmkload_mod just to ensure the driver works OK with your hardware.
