Another working Intel based mainboard (not listed at present as far as I could see). Also, a working PCI-e SAS raid adapter.

Currently I can see that both the on-board SATA controllers (ICH10) are detected and the board itself is recognised correctly by ESX4i. Running a Core2 Duo @ 2.13ghz.
Dual Onboard NICs are not recognised as are realtek based, so fitted an Intel Pro/1000 MT.
It's also useful to note this board sports a (second) x8 PCI-e slot, which is PCIe 2.0 compliant. I currently have the SAS raid controller in that port and it works well (might be handy for those looking for a mainstream ESX4i rig that'll run an x8 based PCI-e adapter - be nice if the NICs worked though).
