Hii Andreas,

I have the script and used it once to try and do this, alas failed.
Im about to try again and just checked here before hand... so I'll download again follow your script.

Many thanks

Hi CymonZ,

if you want to add ichi's driver to an already installed system (without having to re-install it) then convert the tgz file that ichi posted to a VIB file using the TGZ2VIB5 utility that I included with the latest version of my ESXi-Customizer script.
You can then install the VIB file with an esxcli command in an ESXi shell. For details see here: http://v-front.blogspot.com/2011/11/esx ... b5-10.html.

Hi, thanks for this...

My system is up and running on the single MoBo 8168 at the moment.

I've a spare box I can fire up that has a working nVidia MoBo NIC. Once booted, I'll add the DLinks, then add the new drivers using the procedure you listed at the top of this thread.

Weekends are "no computer" days (email doesn't count!), so I'll do all this Sunday evening and post back.

Cheers
Simon

Pictures speak louder than words... :D :D :D

The new drivers work fine on the test system, an Asus P5N73-CM motherboard. ESXi cant see any drives so its a good test box for PCI cards!

At first the new card only linked in at 100Mbits, it took a cable change to get 1000Mbits !

I'll apply to the "real" box when I can; Asus P7P55D where the on-board NIC and SATA devices are recognised out of the box.

Thank-you to everyone involved.

Ichi and all.

You're bloody marvelous. Thank you so much for this.

I was pointed here by CymonZ whilst trying to sort my D-link nics and now all is hunky dory.

Thanks once again. Joe.

Worked :D

Running ESXi 5 on my server now.

Thanks to peetz for his script.

I just love booting from USB,
I created the USB drive in a vmplayer then pluged it in to my server.

Hey, I can't get my D-Link DGE-530T(rev 11) to work, I find it with lspci but it dosen't get a vmnic id when I try to add the converted vib-file from the quoted driver.

What kind of info do you need from me?

Regards

Marvell 88E8001 card is used depending on the rev 11 of D-Link 530T.
Test driver of Marvell "skge" was created, please also try this.

I do not have D-Link 530T, the test has not been done.

Ichi and Andreas,

As Joe said quite poetically...

"bloody marvellous"

Now working in Asus P7P55D mobo, on-board NIC + 2 DLink 528Ts, 16Gb, 60GB SSD Boot, 4x500Gb SATA, iCore5 @ 2.9Ghz.

Goes like a rocket....

Thanks you...

Simon

Mr. ichi,

unfortunately Daniel provided a Link with a quite old version of the atl1e driver. Here is a newer one which supports even more motherboard modells:
viewtopic.php?f=13&t=2735&hilit=1083

Could you kindly convert this to a ESX 5.0 driver?

Thank you!

Martin
