So As topic says thats my Whitebox.

The only thing that i had to buy extra was the network card and i used the Intel Pro/1000MT Desktop Adapter.
The integrated realtek card 8112 and the Intel Pro/100 card were enabled afterwords with custom OEM.TGZ applied after install of the ESXi 4.1 update1

I attach the oem which was taken from my host default install and then added the drivers and the simple.map and pci.ids.

the drivers are e100.o and the r8168.o

Cheers

Hi I'm trying to install ESXi 4.1 onto this motherboard with a Phenom II X4 840. This is the first time I've ever installed ESXi - I've used it, just no installed it

It keeps crashing after I accept the license agreement install with an failure loading the vkmfs module (or something to that effect). I've disabled the onboard NIC, but nothing else.

What settings in your BIOS do you have?

Hi,

I'm trying to install to this motherboard with the SATA in ACHI mode and I've embedded your oem.tgz into the install CD.

It keeps reporting "vmkctl.HostCtlException: Unable to load module /usr/lib/vmware/vmkmod/vmfs3: Failure". This is the same error I got while using a original install disk.

What are your BIOS settings?

Hello !
Did you insert a ( compatible ) Intel PCI/PCIe Gbit Ethernet card BEFORE your attempt to install ESXi 4.1U1 on a hdd or USB ?
Also, before installing you may disable in BIOS Setup any devices that are
not likely to be used ( audio, COM, LPT, firewire, etc ).
Further, you may try to install ESXi 4.1U1 having the Realtek on-board Ethernet disabled in BIOS Setup.
After everything is working as expected you may go on : enable the on-board Ethernet and add the oem files.

Main point : Insert an Intel Gbit card and start the installation ! Give the feed back !

Good luck !
