 Re: INTEL BOX-DQ67SWB3
In general this class of motherboard has a software RAID controller. ESXi does not support software RAID.

 Re: INTEL BOX-DQ67SWB3
The driver can still load and ESXi will be able to see the individual drives. The driver just doesn't support the RAID portion as would be the case with Windows or Linux.

Yes, we tried AHCI, and Native IDE modes, and they didn't work, we also tried to disable the LAN, and got the same error message:
"vmkctl.HostCtlException: Unable to load module /usr/lib/vmware/vmkmod/vmfs3: Failure"
Does ESxi not like the HDD controller, or can it not install without a LAN? Both?

Does ESxi not like the HDD controller, or can it not install without a LAN? Both? The VMFS3 error comes up because ESXi is not able to recognize a NIC and initialize networking functionality on the host.
