mini-ITX boards with DUAL GIGABIT ethernet onboard, and Q67 or C206 chipsets.. a shoebox XEON with dual gigabit onboard!

Anybody know if there is a reseller for these boards, or are they only available from Portwell directly?

They look interesting but I'm not keen on the 8 GB limit.

Dave -

I am far more interested as one of the main limiting factors in my deployment of VMWare systems at work is physical size and power draw.

I suspect this is really just a physical limit based on the size of the board, and the availability of DDR3 DIMMs. We know both the Q67 and C206 chipsets support and recognize far more than 8Gb.

I will send them a message and inquire.

-received a reply back from their customer service department yesterday. The boards do support up to 32Gb of RAM, the info on their webpage was based on DIMM availability at the time (4Gb). So really, the true limitation is that these mini-ITX boards only have 2 DIMM slots. 8Gb DIMMs are available currently and would be supported, as would 16Gb in future.

-received more info back from their sales department. 'Sample quantities' of their C206 motherboard (less than 20) are over $300 each. :o

That seems excessive for the featureset.. despite the small form factor.
