Post Marvell gig E adapters in simple map - not seen
I can see the two adapters in simple map but they do not show up in VSphere
Quote:
/etc/vmware # lspci |grep net
000:004:00.0 Network controller: Marvell Technologies, Inc. 88E8056 PCI-E Gigabit Ethernet Controller
000:005:00.0 Network controller: Marvell Technologies, Inc. 88E8056 PCI-E Gigabit Ethernet Controller
000:006:03.0 Network controller: Intel Corporation 82541PI Gigabit Ethernet Controller [vmnic0]

Only the intel looks like has a driver. I do not want to modify oem.gtz and reinstall if possible but I need the other two nics

I have seen others that got these nics working with contributed drivers drivers but everything seems to be a new installation

Any tips on how to add the required driver to an existing install of 4.0

I think only way to solve your problem is it modify the oem file you use and add the drivers to that one and reboot.

If you have enable ssh you can use a sftp software to move the new oem file to the bootbank.

Varazir,

Thanks I can get the oem file from the bootbank onto my workstation. Not totally clear on how to add a driver.

I got the oem.tgz that is said to work from http://dischord.org/blog/2011/03/28/mar ... phere-4-1/

Do I just overwrite the one in bootbank and reboot?

If you have an existing install you can overwrite the one in bootbank and altbootbank. For a new install the script by Varazir embeds the oem file into the ISO image.

The original oem file have you changed it before installation or is it just a empty file ?

If you have changed it I would recommend just rename the file copy the new into the bootbank.

if it's the original just over write it

SOLVED
Had to setup the files on a website (google sites) to use wget

Once the files were in /usr/sbin and CHMOD to 755 I connected using using ftp and put the new oem.tgz into bootbank and altbootbank.

Restarted and I have the two Marvell nics running

I never modified anything in the original oem file but is was way bigger then the one I copied over
