Onboard SATA, Ethernet are not recognized but I expected that.
I tried a brand new PROMISE SATA300 TX4 RT which PSOD on install
and also later when booting from USB flash drive so I removed it.

I setup another "beige box" as nfs server and it likes that so I'm able to create VMs - Yeah!

i have setup a similar whitebox from this motherboard, basically i wanted to see if its possible to build a very cheap esxi 4 whitebox.this whole setup(minus the hdd) would not cost more than 200$.

Amd Sempron 140 proc
2GB kinsgton memory
160 gb wd sata hdd
1 tb Hitachi sata hdd
1x intel pro gt gig card

have not tried raid or other stuff

using vsphere client to connect to this box,
installed esxi through an external usb drive.

this is a very budget setup, and is good for people who just want to get started with esxi.
