 Asus K8N system almost working - SATA problem

UPDATE:

I 'solved' my problem by using a PATA to SATA bridge connecting my SATA drive to the motherboard PATA port. Works well enough for my 'play' system.

Update:

Upgraded to ESXi 4... I wanted to try a system without modifying anything so I broke down and bought 2 Intel 1000 GT PCI Ethernet cards. I still need to use the SATA-IDE bridge but now a default ESXi4 extracted to a USB drive works fine on my system.

Hardest part of the upgrade was getting my old Windows machine updated with the new tools as the .NET Framework upgrade kept failing, possibly because I was trying to install it without an active internet connection. Installed .NET update separately (with a network connection) then vSphere installed.
