Post ""Invalid magic in header"" - While building virtual applian
Hi,

I am trying to build a virtual appliance and i am using a ovf file format given by a vendor (which works fine in other installation i've done) and a vmdk file.

During importing file everything goes fine and finally it says ""Invalid magic in header""

I am using vmware esx server 3.5 to build my appliance and connecting through virtual center using vi client version 2.5 to build.

The esx server is in a customer place in germany and the vi client display was all in german language. Please let me know if its the language conflict

Attached a doc with the screenshots of the ovf file importing procedure which was followed the final step is the error

Urgent !!!

Any kind of help is welcomed

How have you made out with this. Have you tried VMware Converter?

You could manually copy over the vmdk file and then recreate the VM manually as the specs will be in the OVF file.

Hi,

VMConverter and options cant be tried as it is production setup of a different customer.

I would appreciate if anyone can give idea about the error after looking at the document with screenshots i've attached.
