During the phase of installation of VM ESX 3.5.0 server have been found a fatal errors.

The message: "Fatal Error....Unable to find a supported device to write the VM ESX server 3i 3.5.0 imege to ..

Manufacturer: To Be Filled by O.E.M.
Model: To Be Filled by O.E.M.
Service: To Be Filled by O.E.M.
Bios: 1017.002 ".

Believing that the system had not correctly identified ID vendor or ID device
I have executed the procedure to identify possible unknown device, but the command "lspic -v" doesn't signal me a unknown device.

Could to be the bios version the cause this problem?

Configuration of my PC:

Processor: DualCore AMD Athlon 64 FX-60, 2600 MHz (13 x 200)
Mabo: Asus A8V Deluxe
Bios: American Megatrends Inc. ver 1017.002
Ram: 3Gb PC2300
HD: Seagate Barracuda 7200.11 1TB (150 GB for XP OS)

At a guess I would say that the southbridge (VIA VT8237) on your motherboard is not compatible with ESX, or at least has no driver for it. For onboard PATA/SATA controllers I think you'll find that you pretty much have to stick with Intel or Nvidia. You can create your own OEM driver I think, but that is beyond me.

indeed the VIA SATA controler don't seem to be supported from ESXi.

VIA has always been an of the most greater producers of controler.

will I have to wait the next release of ESXi?

is there some hope?

I don't think a VIA driver made it into ESXi 4.0. I've attached simple.map from ESXi 4.0 RC if you want to double check.
