Not that it is a huge issue, but was just wondering if anyone was able to install/administer ESXi from the local console with a PS2 keyboard plugged in? I have a Gigabyte EX58-UD4P motherboard with a standard PS2 keyboard plugged in and as soon as ESXi starts loading, the keyboard stops responding (USB keyboard works fine).

Re: PS2 Keyboard not recognised?
At home I have an Asus MB and older IBM on PS/2. Are you able to press ALT+F1 when it stops loading to see if there are any errors - also ALT+F12 will show the vmkernel log.
Major issues trying to get ESXi to start using a PS2 keyboard. I replaced it with a USB keyboard and it worked great. I probably lost 1 day in beating my head until I just got out another keyboard. Sometimes keys would work and sometimes they didn't.
