Post Intel 82579LM nic passthrough
Hi,

i am desperately trying to pass a Intel 82579LM nic through to a Debian (with updated E1000E drivers!) vm. When i do lspci on debian, it correctly shows the nic, but dmesg | grep -i e1000e says something like: "probe of 0000:03:00.0 failed with error -2" (paste). What is going on here? I tried different Debian versions (squeeze+wheezy), as well as Ubuntu (12.04), and Windows 7. Ubuntu showed the same behavior as Debian, Windows 7 reported a "Code 10" in the device manager info page of the nic.

The nic works flawlessly if not passed through, e.g. when Ubuntu is running directly on the box.

Hardware: Intel S1200BTS, 8GB DDR3-1333 ECC RAM, Intel E3-1230
Currently running on ESXi 5 Update 1

I hope someone of you can help me! :)
