Success with ASUS P6X58D-E and ATI 6450
I now have a working ESXi server that boots a windows VM that uses a USB Keyboard and Mouse, and DVI Monitor attached to the host.
The video card is a Gigabyte GV-R645SL-1GI that has an ATI 6450 GPU on it.
I have yet to get any nVidia GPU to work properly in VMDP.
Also working is a Hauppague HVR-1800 PCI-e TV tuner card in Windows Media Center on Win7x64.
I am still unable to get the Marvell SATA controller to work properly on VMDP, or the NEC USB 3.0 interface.

Which CPU are you using? I thought that there weren't any LGA1366 Chips to support VT-d

VT-d is part of the chipset, not the CPU. The CPU component of virtualization is VT-x. See also: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/X86_virtualization

not just chipset, but BIOS implementation as well, many consumer board makers and some server board makers either lacks or have fault VT-d implementations.
