Post Licensing option between the free version and the lowest bus
Had a question that I put towards VMWare and am waiting for an answer back. I have vSphere running on a home server. Currently I have a Windows desktop, a MythTV server, a few linux servers and looking to move a standalone asterisk box to the mix. The free version is fine but I was thinking ahead about possibly upgrading to a dual cpu mobo. It would be nice if there was a "personal" licensing option that was basically the business essentials minus the extra two server option.. maybe $100-200.. Just curious if anyone else had that need or desire..Has anyone else contacted VMWare about something line this?

Thanks and sorry if I posted to the wrong topic forum but this one seemed to be the closest I could find..

You'd be fine with a dual CPU system as long as it is under 32 GB. There's no option today for what you're looking for (outside of running the server in permanent eval mode) but there is some talk about bringing back the VMTN subscription which would meet your needs - http://communities.vmware.com/thread/335123.

Thanks Dave, for some reason I was under the impression that your were limited to one processor..
