Not saving changes and configurations after reboot
Hello. --- newbie on vshpere ---
I have installed esxi vshpere hypervisor free on a boot usb and a good compatible machine. (based on shuttle sh67h7 as many people)
I have a problem. I boot from a USB stick and all is working fine, but it is impossible to remember the configuration after reboot. no management network, no virtual machines, no nothing,
If I modify something in the datastore, after reboot and add again the management network and the virtual machine, it works fine. but if I do something related to the system, as changing the management network or the IP, i loose the changes after reboot.
I am pretty frustrated, because I don't really know what is happening.
I need some help or directions where to see something.
thank you.
system: shuttle sh67h7 i7 3770 local datastore harddisk barracuda
verison: VMware-VMvisor-Installer-5.0.0.update01-623860.x86_64

Re: Not saving changes and configurations after reboot
Seems that the system is having trouble writing the backup config file. If you access the console and run - /sbin/backup.sh 0 /bootbank/ does the system update the state.tgz (or local.tgz) file in /bootbank?

Re: Not saving changes and configurations after reboot
you are right. it looks for some reason the USB was in read only mode (¿?). it has solved repartitioning it, and installing again the hypervisor.
Thank you.
