Currently have the following:
Asus M4A785TD-M EVO mb
16gb Gskill RAM (F3-8500CL7Q)
Athlon II x4 635 CPU

System was working fine until several weeks ago when it lost its CMOS. Replaced the battery but it has been acting up ever since. Today I went to power up (it had been running hard for a week) and nothing. No POST, no beeps, no video. MB is still under warranty but appears to no longer be made by ASUS.

So I'm looking for a new MB that is compatible with the rest of my hardware and will still run ESXi5.0-U1. Any suggestions? Ideally, a company that has a reputation for good service and reliability.

I'd take a look through the whitebox forum and also check out ultimatewhitebox.com. I'd lean towards an Asus or Intel based MB for a desktop system and I'd get something that could support 32 GB. My last purchase were some supermicro based MB as I was looking for good vt-d support and lots of expansion capability.

Well, I've looked in both places and didn't see much if anything on ESXi5.0. Is it safe to assume that if it works for 4.0 or 4.1 that it will work for 5.0?
