I am looking to build a server using P8Z77 either M or V mainboard.

Doing a google search does return the M model (http://communities.vmware.com/docs/DOC-18911), but I am not sure of the board as I cannot find any other references.

Has anyone tried any of the Z77 board with success, or is there another recommendation? I am planning on using either the i7 2600K or the 2700K.

EDIT: Oops, the link is not for the M but the V-Pro.

I tested ESXi 5 rollup 2 on my Asrock Z68 Extreme4 (B3) and so far everything but hardware pass-through is working.

Vt-d won't work with unlocked K-CPUs

I want to use GigaByte GA-Z77-D3H with i7-2600 (regular, not "K") processor,
16GB (4x4GB) DDR3 1333 Corsair.
I cratead custom image with ESXi-Customizer, and integrated this: http://www.vm-help.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=24&t=3494&hilit=Atheros+L1+Gigabit&start=80 drivers.
Also, I have purchased an Intel 8390MT PRO/1000 MT Gigabit PCI Network Adapter, in case if the integrated NIC will not work.

I tested the customized image with Atheros L1 Gigabit driver integrated on Asus P5K motherboard, and it's NIC works fine.

In m.b. specs on GigaByte site, it shows like "Atheros GbE LAN chip (10/100/1000 Mbit)".
The question is, if this driver applicable for GA-Z77-D3H too?
