Post esxi 5.0 without displayadapter?
Hi,

Is it possible to run esxi 5 host without a displayadapter?

I just successfully installed a host:

Asus Maximus Formula
Q6600
8 GB DDR2
Asus GeForce ENGT520 Silent

When I try to start the host without the displayadapter is doesn't seem to start. I have disabled "F1 to continue.." etc in BIOS and it seems to be starting to load since I can hear the disk read, but I stops after a while.

Is it possible to extract systemlogs maybe?

Regards
Mathias!

I'm not sure if this can work, never tried ...

To debug this you might want to try enabling serial line logging in ESXi 5.0.
See http://kb.vmware.com/kb/1033888.

To look at the messages then you need to connect another computer to the serial port using a null modem cable.

Good luck!

It works with my ASUS M4A89TD Pro/USB3, 890FX. I beeps to signalize that a displayadapter is absend but it boots normal.
