 Drives on MCP78 not detected at all.

 Drives on MCP78 not detected at all.
Hi guy's please note i'm new to vmware.

I am trying to set up vsphere esxi 5 on a machine using an MCP78 controller
with 2x sata disks in raid 0. The Bios mode is set to SATA.

When I boot from the instal CD no drives are listed.

Can anyone guide me through what i need to do? please note im new to linux also.

I have looked at a few guides but they all seem to focus on version 4 architecture.

The drivers that ship with ESXi don't support software RAID.

Are you able to post the PCI id for the controller? You'll want to have it in SATA or legacy mode (not RAID mode).
