Hello. First post here, wanted to share what works for me.
Have a dell T610, wanted to have an external SAS array directly attached to a windows file server formatted NTFS.
Pass through works great for this device, read and write speeds seem native to hardware. The array is now also portable between VM and PM, which was a must for our environment.

I had to update the firmware on the card to the newest version, and also set it up to boot on errors. For some reason, the card stopping the boot process to have me acknowledge my critical array prevented the hypervisor from loading, instead the server would load the Dell unified server configuration thing. This kept me in a loop until I removed the stop on error setting in the rocket raid bios.
Other than that this was a very smooth process with very good results.
