Network Interface Card 3C996-T (PCI-X) is supported in ESX 4.1

P.S.
Tested on:
MSI P35 Neo-F and ASUS P5B

ESX 4.1 successfully installed on the SATA drives connected to the motherboard

I just myself a 3Com 3C996-T Network Card purely to try and get ESX 4.1 installed however it seems that I am unable to do this, unless you used customer drivers when installing ? Would really appreciate some more information from your if possible ?

Regards

No, I did not use the driver for 3Com.

And now, for example, on the motherboard MSI G31M2 v1.0, I installed another 3Com 3C996-T, and has successfully installed ESXi 4.1 without any extra drivers.

MSI G31M2 v1.0 has ICH7, no requires drivers. Works with both SATA and a PATA (IDE) HDD.

I can also confirm that 3C996B-T PCI-X that uses the Broadcom Chipset is also working great.
Installed without any extra drivers / fuss

Motherboard: Asus M2N-E
CPU: AMD Athlon 2 X4 645
RAM: 8GB DDR2-800
