Post Is it possible to store vmdk on the bootable usb?
Is it possible to store a usb passthru vmdk file on the bootup USB stick and the host will be able to start it up?

The idea is to have a VM running s a NAS (FreeNAS) VM at startup and have the host points to the NAS for datastore.

I'm trying to eliminate a local datastore if it is possible at all.

Thanks

Not that I've seen. I believe with ESXi 5 you'll be able to boot from USB but I'd have to confirm that.
