Post Automatic revert snapshot

At work we use an ESXi 4.1 with some test environments VM.

Every morning this (3 VM) is reverted back to the last taken snapshot. This snapshot is under maintenance once a month to install updates or changes we see fit.

What i would like is for this operation to be automatic.

Is there a way / script / operations to make the last snapshot taken on given VM, reverted to during given hour of the day ?

Looking forward to feedbacks :)

You can use the command vim-cmd vmsvc/ - it has the following snapshot options:

If you run vim-cmd vmsvc/snapshot.create you'll see the options to use.

~ # vim-cmd vmsvc/snapshot.create
Insufficient arguments.
Usage: snapshot.create vmid [snapshotName] [snapshotDescription] [includeMemory] [quiesced]

Creates a snapshot for the vm.

You can use cron to schedule a script that you create - ... mware.html
