 Active Directory Integration
Hi,
I manage two ESXi hosts at work. Both are setup to authenticate against our Active Directory Domain and both worked great yesterday. Today however one of them is no longer working for this. Nothing changed so I'm at a loss. I did not specify user names for permissions, I specified user groups so I don't have to remember everyone that could possibly connect to them. Its almost like the host can't contact the domain controller, but I removed the active directory authentication & re-added it fine. Are there logs somewhere that I can look at to find out what the issue is?

 Re: Active Directory Integration
You can check /var/log/vmware/hostd.log.
Do you have time synchronization setup on both hosts?

 Re: Active Directory Integration
Both hosts have one VM that syncs its time with theirs as our DC doesn't function as a NTP server (I've asked IT for it). Funny thing is, it works fine today.

 Re: Active Directory Integration
Do you have the hosts themselves sync with any NTP source?

 Re: Active Directory Integration
No. So far I haven't been able to convince IT to turn the NTP Servers on on the DC & backup DC.

 Re: Active Directory Integration
If the hosts have Internet access I use 0.pool.ntp.org and 1.pool.ntp.org.
