Post Upgrading mobo
I'd like to swap out my ESXi box w another mobo and cpu i have laying around here going from a gigabyte 890GPA-UD3H to a MA790X-UD4P both of which are supported.

Is this thing going to go haywire and force me to re install ESXi and all my vms?

I searched a bit but didn't find anything related to hardware upgrades to this extent.

How is your storage setup on the host? Is your ESXi install on the same disk as a datastore?

In a worst case if you move the drive to a new system and ESXi can't bring up the config you could
1) access the DCUI and reset the system config
2) reboot
3) reconfig the host
4) browse the datastore and re-register your VMs.

A reset of the system doesn't impact the existing datastore on the install disk.

Thank you, the machine has one drive, ESXi and the vms all share the same drive.

I'll give your list a shot thank you!

You may not need to do all that. You may just have to fix the networking.

I also think Networking might resolve the issue.
