Post ASUS P8H67-M, cannot find installation media
During installation,I've got this massage, and stoped.

Quote:
Unable to find the system image to install.
This is due to the image not being mounted
correctly or the CD-ROM not being supported.

I use VMware-VMvisor-Installer-4.1.0.update1-348481.x86_64.iso
and get oem.tgz from http://www.vm-help.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=13&t=2992, then I made a CDROM and an USB
installation media by use mkesxiaio_4.3.1.sh.

But both the installation media,CDROM and USB, got the same stop massage.

My CDROM is an IDE device, The IDE chip on motherboard is VIA VT6415,Vendor:1106,PCI ID:0415,NAME:VT6415 PATA IDE Host
Controller.

Replace IDE CDROM by SATA, it worked. But I still want use my IDE CDROM.

How can i get module pata_via.o or just map Generic IDE module to the IDE Controller in oem.tgz?

I've created usb and cdrom installation media under ubuntu 10.10. The syslinux version is 4.04 by default, it's really have a bug that cannot boot from USB. For the USB media, after the script completed successfully, I downloaded syslinux 3.86, then ran the following commands:

./syslinux /dev/sdb1
dd conv=notrunc bs=440 count=1 if=mbr.bin of=/dev/sdb
parted /dev/sdb set 1 boot on

When completed above operation, I boot up USB and got that Error massage.

Do you have the option to use 10.04 ?

I don't know if this will work for you

sudo aptitude install syslinux=2:3.63+dfsg-2ubuntu3

but you could try it, and then run the script or run the command manually
