 'binmod.tgz' in ESXi 4.0?
What happend to the binmod.tgz file on partition 1 on de .dd image? Seems like it is replaced by 'sys.vgz', which contains 'vmvisor-sys.tar.vtar'. However I cannot unpack this file in windows (tried with 7zip and winrar, 7zip does nothing while winrar says the archive is corrupt and show the (partial) contents)). I wanted to take a look in the 'simple.map' file and the included drivers in 'mod'.

 Re: 'binmod.tgz' in ESXi 4.0?
With FTK imager I can open the 'vmvisor-sys.tar.vtar' file, however it seems to show only a lot of symbolic link files, not the full data? The 'vmvisor-sys.tar.vtar' is about 131 MB big, so there must be more in it.
Anybody got a clue?

I've attached simple.map and pci.ids in a zip. Note that pci.ids is now located in /etc/vmware.

You wouldn't be able to use the drivers from ESXi. What hardware do you need support for?

 Re: 'binmod.tgz' in ESXi 4.0?
You won't need to ATI reference in simple.map as it is in the default now - http://www.vm-help.com/esx40i/Hardware_support.php. But the problem will be the realtek nic and lack of ESXi 4.0 driver. Do you have an Intel Pro1000 / Broadcom 57xx NICs around?
