Is it listed if you run fdisk -l?

Post Re: SSD disk not visible
Hi Dave,

Before I installed esxi running fdisk -l I got
[BEFORE]
~ # fdisk -l
Disk /dev/disks/t10.ATA_____ST31000524AS________________________________________9VPBWJEX: 1000.2 GB, 1000204886016 bytes
255 heads, 63 sectors/track, 121601 cylinders
Units = cylinders of 16065 * 512 = 8225280 bytes

Disk /dev/disks/t10.ATA_____ST31000524AS________________________________________9VPBWJEX doesn't contain a valid partition table
[/BEFORE]

The current results of fdiks -l are:

~ # fdisk -l

Disk /dev/disks/t10.ATA_____ST31000524AS________________________________________9VPBWJEX: 1000.2 GB, 1000204886016 bytes
64 heads, 32 sectors/track, 953869 cylinders
Units = cylinders of 2048 * 512 = 1048576 bytes

Device Boot Start End Blocks Id System

/dev/disks/t10.ATA_____ST31000524AS________________________________________9VPBWJEXp8 615 900 292848 6 FAT16

Partition table entries are not in disk order

So, I guess I don't see the disk. What changed?

I looked again on the BEFORE output.

Could it be that my SSD was not recognized also than?

How many SATA ports does the motherboard have? In some cases with Intel controllers not all of the ports seem to work.

This is the board I use
http://www.gigabyte.com/products/produc ... id=3651#ov

Storage specs
2 x SATA 6Gb/s connectors (SATA3_0, SATA3_1) supporting up to 2 SATA 6Gb/s devices
4 x SATA 3Gb/s connectors (SATA2_2, SATA2_3, SATA2_4, SATA2_5) supporting up to 4 SATA 3Gb/s devices
Support for SATA RAID 0, RAID 1, RAID 5, and RAID 10
* When a RAID set is built across the SATA 6Gb/s and SATA 3Gb/s channels, the system performance of the RAID set may vary depending on the devices being connected.

* Does it matter to which SATA I connect?

SOLVED

It seems that the power cable was loose on the SSD.

Thank you for the help.

ARGH, not solved.

I resecured the SSD power cable, booted the host.

Still, i do not see the SSD disk.

fdisk -l returns the following
