It is very frustrating. To be clear, what happens on reboot is it shows the initial white loading hypervisor progress bar. It gets to the end and the cursor just blinks.
On recovery reboot it gets to that point, pauses for about 1 sec, then the screen turns momentarily blue, then goes to the regular yellow ESXi loading status display.
I have attached my /var/log/messages just in case that helps...
Any ideas on what I should try now?

Maybe that is the best route at this point?
(doing a clonezilla image of the drive before destroying it)
