I'm new to Vmware ESXi. My installation left incomplete without reaching the install disk level. My screen gives the error message: failed to load module vmfs3. I'm trying to install ESXi 4.1 on to gigabyte mainboard with 8168b realtek onboard NIC. What should I do? Any help would be appreciated.

ESXi doesn't have a native Realtek NIC driver. Check this page - http://www.vm-help.com/esx40i/customize_oem_tgz.php and then Customizing OEM forum for a script to create a custom install image.

Thanks Dave for your quick response. I used Varazir's script on Red Hat Linux with some minor changes in commands and I successfully installed the ESXi 4.1 on to my system. Many thanks to Varazir as well.

Your welcome, which commands did you change ?
I'm trying to make it work on as many linux dists as I can.

The thing I know is the install command and udevadm. was there some more ?

there was nothing more. All I changed instal command yum install instead of apt-get command. Thanks again for your work.
