Post Zotac GF8200-C-E M/B
Hi, I use following hardware;
-M/B: Zotac GF8200-C-E
-CPU: AMD Phenom 2 X4 905e
-Memory: 8GB
-HDD: SATA 500GB
-DVD:

Using the oem.tgz which was uploaded in this site for nVidia MCP78 SATA controller (10de:0ad4), ESXi 4.0u1 installation on above hardware was successfully done.

But while rebooting after the installation, "Failed to find boot partition" message is displayed. So currently I can not use ESXi again. Does anyone know working around for it? Could anyone help me?

Thanks

Hi,

You need to manually copy oem.tgz to your boot disk. The one used when boot the install isn't copied to the target disk.

See: http://www.vm-help.com/esx40i/customize_oem_tgz.php

Typical error!

Ya, as you already have installed ESXi it would be the easiest way to boot up with a Linux Live CD and copy the file.

If you have a linux system running you could use my script too.

Very Very thaks all.

Using Fedora 11 Live CD, then I copied the oem.tgz in the ESXi install USB memory to Hypervisor1.

Now I can use vSphere Client functions for my Zotac GF8200-C-E M/B.
It is surreal, fantastic world in my client spreading toward my small server!

Very thanks again
