Select Driver/Use a Driver Disk/Back”.How to install VMWare ESX 3.5.also i am install ESX 4.0.it’s showing error”No compatible network adapter found.please consult the products” and “Network-adapters returned critical failure” in vmkernal mode (ALT+F12).

I enabled VT technology in bios,

Please help me.Thanks in advance,Velmurugan
I am also very interested to learn if the "Intel 82578DC" NIC will be supported in ESXi 4. Can't really find out of it will work or not.

I suspect that the card might be too new. But it could have been included in the newer ESXi 4 build!

Since we are also talking about an i5 board here (The DH55TC), I'm hijacking this thread a bit. ;)

Anybody know?

(VT-x is a motherboard and cpu thing I believe, VT-d has to be supported by your cpu)
What sort of NIC does the system have?

I have just got an Intel i5 660 using it on a Intel DQ57TM which has full vPro support

http://www.intel.com/products/desktop/m ... erview.htm

However the nic is not supported I get the unable to load lvmdriver or whatever the message is

I will try and find another nic so I can get past that stage.

Got another nic which is supported.

However now I have found ESXI detects no hard drives. so looks like this motherboard was no good for ESXI

Is there a driver someone has made for the newer Intel SATA controllers?

I haven't seen any, but with ESXi 3.5 one person used a hex editor on the Intel driver to add PCI devices to it. That might also work in your case.

i just want to add that Ive built up a box with the Intel DP55WB motherboard using ESXi 4.1. The install initially failed due to the onboard NIC not being supported, however I changed to an Intel PRO 1000 GT NIC and its all sweet now.

Xeon X3440 CPU, 8GB RAM...good bang-for-buck box.
