Post Fatal: not a multiboot kernal - DELL GX760
Hello,

I am a newbie for ESXI. I downloaded ESXi4 and burned CD. When I installed it, on "VMware vmvisor boot mune", selected "ESXi installer" then prompt:

Kernal: vmkboot.gz
Lodading:vmkboot.gz
Fatal: not a multiboot kernal

No idea for this problem, anyone can help me?

Thanks!

Thank you sir, but I read and tried many times,

mboot.c32 vmkernel.gz nocheckCPUIDLimit --- vmkboot.gz --- sys.vgz --- cim.vgz --- ienviron.tgz --- image.tgz --- install.tgz

Insert "nocheckCPUIDLimit" in two places. mboot.c32 vmkboot.gz nocheckCPUIDLimit --- vmkernel.gz nocheckCPUIDLimit

but no change, the screen always show "Fatal, not a multiboot keranl" after I press enter....

Are you running the latest BIOS and what sort of CPU does the system have?

Have you checked the md5sum on the ISO download or tried to boot from a USB flash drive?
