viewtopic.php?f=12&t=1272&p=9462#p9462But didn't work. Was kind of half working, e.g when I open google got: "400 Your client has issued a malformed or illegal request. That’s all we know."

viewtopic.php?f=12&p=7412#p7412 oem-r8169-esx4.1.tgz worked but slow, I changed the network port and now seems to be fast. I report back in case goes slow again.
I fix only the NIC driver after the install (copies VM and the vSphere client worked fine)
1) cd tmp
2) mkdir oem
3) cd oem
4) cp /bootbank/oem.tgz oem.tgz
5) gzip -d oem.tgz
6) tar -xvf oem.tar
7) rm oem.tar
Make your changes (copy r8169.o and rename to r8168.o)
8) tar -cvzf oem.tgz etc lib sbin usr var
9) cp oem.tgz /bootbank/oem.tgz
10 reboot
Also in vSphere the board only shows up as OEM
First try Realtek Driver

Still highly recommend to
not bother with the on Board and go for a supported Intel NIC !!!
