Post ESXi 4.1 on Intel DQ67-EP
I got ESXi 4.1 working on an Intel DQ67-EP.
Only mini-itx board to my knowledge that will support VT-d

Used an Intel SASUC8i passed to a FreeNAS VM via VMDirectPath, works OK too.

The NIC needs oem.tgz from Chilly: http://www.vm-help.com/forum/viewtopic. ... 181#p11181
Works great with this driver, many thanx!

Hey Bisso,
So you are saying that the Q67 series supports all of ESXi's features like VT-d and VT-x?

Yes, vt-d and vt-x are supported on Intel DQ67-xx series.
Be sure to get a CPU that supports vt-d too. (that is Core i5 or i7, i3 won't support this feature. note that i5 and i7 "K" series won't support vt-d either)

vmDirectPath with a Perc5i worked too, but this card does not seem to support passthrough (disks are seen, but unusable)
I've heard of some builds with DQ67SW and a Perc6i that work though...

Will probably try to passthrough the graphic controller someday, see if it can be useful :)

Intel vPro is quite a great feature too (gives you "ILO card" like functionnality on a desktop board... great!)

Only drawback is the unsupported on-board NIC :/

I'm thinking of upgrading to a DQ67SW though... (more DIMM slots, more PCI slots)
