Post GA-880GMA-USB3
ESXi 4.1.0

Gigabyte GA-880GMA-USB3
AMD Phenom II X6 1090T
4x4GB DDR3-1333 (PC3 10600) GeIL
1x 2TB // 2x 1TB HDD
8GB USB Stick (Boot Drive)
Lian Li V352 Case (do not use the card-reader!!!!)
No IOMMU => This chipset does not support IOMMU

It works (including the onboard NIC)!

The language is German.....

C1E needs to be switched off in Bios
USB3 needs to be switched off in Bios
    Need a Boot-CD for USB-Stick
Driver for Realtek onboard-NIC must be added
I recommend a different board, this one is probably not the ideal choice for ESXi. For a serious use, a RAID-Controller is needed and there are only 2x PCIe 1x left. My PCIe 16x slot is occupied with the HP NC360T Dual Gigabit NIC. You could switch the HDDs for SSDs in order to improve IOs, but that is an expensive option.

Did you intend for it not to support IOMMU, guessing your advanced settings screen indicates that your host does not support PCI Passthrough

Post Re: GA-880GMA-USB3
Hi SirNick,

I have a similar configuration system (Gigabyte GA-880GMA-USB3 with AMD Phenom 1090T).

I faced installation problems for hypervisor. It seems I need to install Realtek Network drivers. Can you tell me, how exactly did you update the NIC drivers? Someone in the forum suggested that I should use a different NIC (preferably Intel Pro / GT1000).

My discussion thread on this issue is here:

I wanna know what drivers you updated for NIC and where did you find them?

thanks in advance...
