 ASUS Sabertooth X58
- ASUS Sabertooth X58 - Chipset North X58 - Chipset South ICH10R - LGA 1366 Intel i7 950 - BIOS 0505 - RAM 12GB Kingston KHX1600C9D3K3/6GX RT
The onboard NIC does not work. I added an Intel EXPI9301CTBLK.
The motherboard has a number of RAID modes, but I have a single SATA drive selected instead. A Seagate 7200.12 1TB drive. Enabled AHCI mode instead of IDE.
Turned on Intel VT in the BIOS. It is disabled by default.
So the only BIOS changes I made were setting it to AHCI and turning on Intel VT. All other BIOS settings are default.
Because the processor is an i7, it does support vt-d.
ESXi 4.1 loaded right up and installed fine. Detected everything and after configuring the management network, was ready to go.

 Re: ASUS Sabertooth X58
Are you using a SATA II drive or SATA III? I have basically the same build but can't get ESX to see/recognize the SATA III drive.
I've set both the Standard SATA Channels to AHCI as well as the Marvell Controller.
Thanks in advance..
