Post ESXi 4.1 on Asus M4A88TD-M/USB3
- Asus M4A88TD-M/USB3 with AMD Phenom II X6 1055T

- Intel EXPI9301CTBLK 10/ 100/ 1000Mbps PCI-Express Network Adapter (2 each)

- G.SKILL Ripjaws Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1333 (PC3 10666) Desktop Memory Model F3-10666CL9D-8GBRL (2 each for 16GB RAM)

- Western Digital Caviar Black WD1501FASS 1.5TB 7200 RPM 64MB Cache SATA 3.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive (OS install and VM storage)

Disabled COM and Parallel ports. Disabled C1E in bios.

During Install, it kept hanging when detecting the USB controller. Found a post on the internet that claimed disabling C1E in the bios would resolve the issue and that proved true.

I am using dual Intel NICs. During the setup, I had the bottom one of the two plugged into the network, but not the top one. Setup wanted to default to card 0 (the top), but I specified to use card 1. All seemed to work well, but once I was ready to start building VMs, the machine would drop connection every 5 minutes. I disabled card 1 so that card 0 was running the show, then re-enabled card 1. Verified that card 0 was still primary, and no longer had any connection issues.
