Re: Intel DQ57TM with ESXi 4 Update 01 and ESXi 4.1
I guess the oem.tgz you mean is the one which i manually added to the folder where also the iso and the script located is.
I used the oem.tgz from hardworker described in the first post. The correct files are definetly included in the tar.gz-file (simple.map, pci.ids, e1000e2.o).
I will try it in the evening and post the result.

Re: Intel DQ57TM with ESXi 4 Update 01 and ESXi 4.1
I solved the problem this night. The onboard nic is now detected. The problem was, that i generated the image within a virtual ubuntu machine, which have a mount on my qnap nas. This mount is a smb and nfs mount at the same time. I think there are some permissions or any other things disturbing the script. i think there were more entries printed on the shell as before.... Thank you for your support and the really nice script

Does anybody know how to configure the Intel AMT on the board to do KVM over IP?

Re: Intel DQ57TM with ESXi 4 Update 01 and ESXi 4.1
Hi All, Sorry for delay, i have had some trouble @work in the last months/weeks... But now i'm back. @_griswold_ how is your performance and how many vm's did you run on this? On my system i have three vm's running (MS Exchange and DC(2003), MS Terminalserver (2k8 R2) and MS Windows XP Machine) and the performance feels very good. At the moment i'm planing to expand the system to 16GB of RAM and an additional SSD drive... I check my Intel AMT configuration and will reply to this. Rgds Comm@nder

Re: Intel DQ57TM with ESXi 4 Update 01 and ESXi 4.1
@Comm@nder: i`m using 7 concurrent active virtual machines now, wich are consuming 14 GB of ram.
-vcenter (test) windows 2k3 -view connection Server (test) windows 2k3 -vcapacityIQ (test) -vshield manager (test) -Terminal server w2k8 -domain controller w2k8 -testserver w2k3
Offline machines are for testing: sharepoint server and an exchange, some vm's for vmware view and a few linux vm's. it's performing very well i think. I use an qnap TS-239 II storage box with 2 TB as NFS-storage.
The Intel AMT settings would be useful for me. Please post it, if you got it.

Re: Intel DQ57TM with ESXi 4 Update 01 and ESXi 4.1
Hi _griswold_,
this is my configuration for Intel AMT(KVM)
BIOS -> Intel ME -> Intel Management Engine - Manageability -> Intel AMT - ON in S0 -> Disabled - ON in S0, ME Wake in S3, S4 -5 -> Enabled - Idle Timeout -> 1 -> Intel Active Management Technology Configuration - Local Setup and Configuration • Computer Name -> something like "ESXKVM" • Domain Name -> something like "Workgroup" • Shared/Dedicated FQDN -> Shared • Dynamic DNS Update -> Disabled • IPV4 TCP/IP Configuration -> Your Network Configuration for static IP-Address - SOL/IDER/KVM Configuration • SOL/IDER Authentication Mode -> Enable • Redirection Mode -> Enabled • Enable KVM -> Enabled - User Consent • User Consent -> None • Remote Control of Opt-in Policy -> Enabled - Change Intel Management Engine Password -> Note that you can only select a 8 character Password because Intel AMT cannot work with longer passwords… And now you are able to connect with an tool like vnc viewer plus to KVM Console or IP-ADDRESS:16992 for Webmanagement.

@ Commander: Your configuration worked for me. Thank you so much posting this!
Important is, that only VNC Viewer Plus is able to connect to the KVM. The free Edition doesn't.
