Post Promise SATA300 TX4 works out of the box
Hello together!

The Promise SATA300 TX4 Card works with ESXi 4.0 (U1) out of the box. Performance approximately 70mb/s. Very nice. Therefore i used an SIL3114 Card, but the performance was extremely slow.

My Whitebox:
Athlon X2 4850e
8GB DDR2 A-DATA
Asus M3N78-VM (Sata didn't work, but NIC works)
Intel Pro 1000GT NIC
1x 1TB Hitachi, 1x 500GB Hitachi + 160GB 2,5" Toshiba SATA Disk

greets

Does the RAID volumes puck up correctly in ESXi? or does it show as individual drives.

How were you able to configure a RAID? I have this same SATA controller and no option to configure upon bootup. I see it's got a disk with drivers but, I need a raid1 to install esxi on - therefore I need it to be configured on boot.

Thanks in advance.

If it's software RAID as argonius states then you'll just be able to see individual drives and not the RAID array with ESX(i).
