This seems to be a 4.1 problem only. I haven't looked into it, but I would guess they've changed the driver that is being loaded for the controller to which the CD-ROM is attached.

CAn anyone help me with the 82578DC drivers, the latest ones from sourceforge seem to compile but not work, Just need some pointers, either I am not compiling them correctly, or they dont load correctly?

Any logging I can do?

I'm having the same problem on an Acer Veriton X490G. Does anyone have an update on this?

Hi,

I am after a varition of this. I have a DH55TC MB running ESXi 4.1 via a seperate Pro1000 NIC card.

I am looking for a way to enable the onboard 82578 NIC port without doing a rebuild?

I would first fully patch the host to make sure you have the latest drivers then try to manualy load the driver (I'm using that the NIC will use the e1000e driver and your system in currently only loading e1000 for the other NIC). If that doesn't work then just copy the oem.tgz to /bootbank and /altbootbank and reboot.

I got the below error message:

Mounting imagedd to /vm/esx-5 ./mkesxiaio_4.1.sh: line 1388:512 /*8244:syntax error: operand expected (error token i s"*8224*)

i use the driver is oem-8086-10f0-v1119.tgz

Please help.

Dear Daniel,

After checking, found the it may be the linux don't update the patch. After update the linux i can run the script. But I have another problem, when I finish update the VM ISO from VMware-VMvisor-Installer-4.1.0-260247.x86_64.iso with Intel 82578DC driver, I can't install to my testing PC HP Pro8100. It show the error is can't detect the network card.

Here is my testing pc hardware spec:
