Creating driver for Broadcom 5761 to support Dell system
I have a Precision T3500 that uses a Broadcom 5761 network card. This is not supported by ESXi 4 but I was able to get the hypervisor installed by install a Intel 1000/Pro card. Sadly this card is recognized but something is wrong with the card. I have been able to get a Pro100 card to work but really want gigabit support

I have seen a number of post in regards to people that have similar machines that use this chipset trying to use this card but having to purchase another card. After some reading it seems possible to create a driver to provide support for this card since I was able to find the Linux drivers for the card here:
http://www.broadcom.com/support/etherne ... 570x-LinuxI've tried following the steps here but did not get far. Does anyone have the setup in which they could generate the correct oem.tgz
http://www.vm-help.com/esx40i/customize_oem_tgz.phphttp://www.kernelcrash.com/blog/using-a ... 009/08/22/Here are steps I've taken so far:
Downloaded: VMware-esx-public-source-4.0-162945.tar.gz
Downloaded: CentOS-5.4-x86_64-netinstall.iso
Downloaded Linux drivers for card: linux-3.99k.zip
Determine the card information for "simple.map" file.
