Post Can oem.tgz for ESXi 4.0 be used for 4.1?
What's the main diff between 4.0 and 4.1? Would I still be able to use those oem.tgz files for 4.0?
Thanks.

Yes it can, at least patching an installed 4.0 to 4.1 keeps the oem.tgz (a working oem.tgz, of course :) ).

I use a custom oem.tgz that inclue FTP and SSH enabled, since 4.1 seem to differ how we can activate SSH will it cause conflict ?

I've noticed there's no image.tgz in the iso installer. So how to add oem.tgz?
I read something about PXE install ESXi 4.1 here http://jayakumar.co.in/general/pxe-boot ... l-install/
And get some idea but I still don't know exactly how to do that.
I'll do some research and post the result here.

Why many ppl are not aware of ESXi 4.1

What kind of difference? The oem.tgz I'm using is working correctly (FTP, ssh, nic drivers). I did an update 4.0 -> 4.1 tho, not a clean 4.1 install.

Different file structure, same contents :)
The hypervisor disk image is located here:

VMware-VMvisor-Installer-4.1.0-260247.x86_64.iso/imagedd.bz2/imagedd

I would remove any SSH changes for ESXi 4.1 and control it via the DCUI or services in the vSphere client.

I would also look at redoing any simple.map files (i.e. start the with 4.1 version and update it) as the 4.1 version will contain updates.
