You can use a Linux live CD to check the oem.tgz file that is being used (you might have to update it). See a sample of the process here - http://www.vm-help.com/esx/esx3i/disabl ... tartup.php - but in your case you'll just have to replace oem.tgz.

The problem was solved but another problem come.
After I install ESXi4 and reboot, I see the same error install.

Before reboot, should I do antyhing?

Yes, you need to do... after reboot and before next boot!

The OEM.TGZ file used at install (from PXE) isn't copied to install disk. Before the first start of ESX you need to boot with any Linux LiveCD version and copy your OEM.TGZ to the disk. With the current ESX4i version the partition is the number 5, so if your install disk is in the first SATA port, you need to mount it using "mount /dev/sda5 /mnt/" (for example).

If you use my script you can insert the oem file into image file(that is copied to the hard drive ) so no extra need to be done after installtion.

Hello, Dani.

My Asus P5Q-E have two Marvell NICs onboard, but they are different. Do you still have the environment to compile the driver ?

One of the NICs is a 88E8001, wich PCI ID is 11ab:4320 - this is not on the list of source code, as I saw in the previous post ; the ESX identified it by this ID that I put on simple.map (lspci show me vmnic0 and 1, and lspci -p show driver sky2 for vmnic0 and nothing for vmnic1), but can´t load the driver, because the driver "say" to the OS it can´t handle this board model ...

I guess that it will work much like the other 88E8056 onboard, with the same driver ... Could you send me a sky2.o with that change for a test ?

Thanks in advance.

To setup the compiler environment see:
http://www.kernelcrash.com/blog/using-a-marvell-lan-card-with-esxi-4/2009/08/22/
I use one Ubuntu 32bit virtual machine to do that.

Sorry, I can't modify of sky2.o because isn't ported by me!

Sorry, only ESX4i here (I don't have any toolchain for ESX3i)

Hello.

I found that page at kernelcrash.com via Google, but it gives me errors on that site, trying for weeks ...

I'm not able to even ping it or do a trace route ...

Anyway, thanks for your reply.
