I made this to get my server up and running with a card that ESXi didn't support out of the box.

While LSI has a VMWare package for this card, I could not get it to install. It gave me Vib signature missing messages.

So I carved out my own OEM.TGZ. I can only say this works for me and for this card. I'm not sure if it would work for the 9260-4i or not.

A few remarks:

I renamed megaraid_sas.o to megaraidsas.o to prevent any conflicts with the oem.tgz overwriting the original binary blob. Not sure if this is required, but its what I felt safest doing.

As per any unsupported modifications. I provide no warranties or guarantees this will work for YOU. It worked for me and wanted to hopefully get some other folks experiencing these issues going.

Enjoy.

I also have this same raid card and when I boot off the esxi cd I created from the iso I cant see my storage.
How do I go about creating an image I can burn to cd to boot off of and see my storage array?

Do you have an ISO file that I can put to CD and re-install my ESXi with the raid drivers in the installation? I can't seem to get my esxi to see my raid. I am new to all of this so that could be the first problem.. Any help greatly apprecitated

Nope sorry I didn't trouble myself to make an ISO (looked too bothersome). Good luck.

I'm not really sure. it's been a while.

You don't uncompress the oem.tgz in bootbank, you let the boot process do it.

20) cp oem.tgz /bootbank/oem.tgz
21) cd /bootbank/
22) chmod 755 oem.tgz
23) reboot the host
